When I was a fringe presidential candidate, in 2007 and 2012, I championed Continental Union — that is to say, East/West reconciliation. It was indeed the Franco-German reconciliation that made it possible to build the European Union and the relative prosperity that accompanies it. Continental Union is the same thing, but extended across the entire continent, all the way to India and China.
Unfortunately, the European Union today is being left behind by the U.S.A. and threatened by China and Russia. The U.S.A. is over-indebted and can no longer finance our defense.
Yet not all is lost.
North/South reconciliation is underway; nothing will stop it, and it will lead to the Atlantic Union. The Atlantic Union will wield the power of a market of 2 billion consumers and producers. That power will be such that India first, then China, will cease to support Putin.
We will thus have prevailed, and the Continental Union will be able to come into being.
For now, the 2027 presidential election is approaching, and even if at 57 I will not be a candidate, I will do everything necessary to persuade the right AND the left to commit to defending the Atlantic Union on the one hand, and on the other to vote for the best-placed candidate in the second round against the Putinists. To that end, a convergence note containing proposals that transcend left/right divisions will shortly be published.
